Emergencies and Moving Them Out
Friday May 1, 2020 | Leslie GalemaOn April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, two teens went on a shooting spree , killing 13 people and wounding more than 20 others before turning their guns on themselves and committing suicide. The Columbine shooting was, at the time, the worst high school shooting in U.S. history and prompted a […] Read more
Thinking About Christmas Now Could Impact Your Community
Tuesday October 9, 2018 | Leslie GalemaOkay, I am not ashamed to admit this: I would put up my Christmas tree on Halloween night if I could! I am never offended by how early stores put up their Christmas decorations and I have been known to spend my birthday money (in November) on Christmas decorations. Isn’t it strange that we live […] Read more
Being For the Families in Your Church at Christmas
Friday December 8, 2017 | Leslie GalemaThere is a real desire in all of us as parents to create meaningful traditions for our children at Christmas. Most of us look at the church for this help by attending a Christmas Eve service together as a family or going caroling to different homes of people from church to brighten their spirits! Something […] Read more
Celebrating the Value of Your Ministry’s Volunteers
Tuesday May 23, 2017 | Leslie GalemaMy husband once volunteered for a team at a church we attended that meant he had to spend long hours at church. When big events would come up it would mean that he spent entire weekends prepping for it—weekends that took him away from his family. I remember being so angry that the leader of […] Read more
Making Time for Your Goals
Tuesday January 17, 2017 | Leslie GalemaIt’s that time of year when we all set goals to work toward during the new year. What might look like showing up on time and keeping those kids alive for an hour is actually much, much more! We live in a busy world. We have jobs, bills to pay, hobbies, families, groceries, laundry, and friends. We barely have time to sit […] Read more
Doing Big Things By Passing The Torch
Thursday July 28, 2016 | Leslie GalemaHow do you define success in leadership? Is it by how many kids are in your ministry? How about the volunteers? Do you measure success by how much you do each week? What if you measured success by what you didn’t do? That feels weird to say and makes me feel lazy, how about you? […] Read more
4 Things Volunteering At OC15 Will Teach You
Wednesday January 21, 2015 | Leslie GalemaThis year will be my ninth Orange Conference. When I leave the conference each year, I am changed, encouraged, recharged and ready to get going “back at the ranch.” Last year, I decided to volunteer, and I started realizing that The Orange Conference isn’t ONLY amazing session after session but it’s actually a volunteer training […] Read more
Book Study: Losing Your Marbles/Playing for Keeps, Week 4
Wednesday November 27, 2013 | Leslie GalemaFun over Time makes a friendship go deeper. Stated simply, one of the most effective ways to stay connected to your kids is to have fun with them. What if it’s time to stop taking ourselves so seriously and start getting serious about having fun? Your kids surely know that you love them, but do […] Read more
Book Study: Losing Your Marbles/Playing for Keeps, Week 3
Wednesday November 20, 2013 | Leslie GalemaTribes over time show us how we belong. We are all trying to fit in somewhere. As a leader or parent, you play a critical role in connecting kids to two primary tribes. Church and Family. Just like love, words, and stories were God’s ideas, so were tribes. People were always part of God’s plan. […] Read more
