As you do weekly ministry it’s easy to forget to look up and around and take in what’s happening. That’s the real story. As you interact with kids, parents and volunteers you can be the catalyst to share stories that help inspire others. Stories are fuel to ministry.
There is a story in the making at your church. God is up to amazing things in the lives of people in the local church. We mark celebrations of church anniversaries and of people being added. These are great stories to mark and tell. They are a way to see forward motion and how far we’ve come. The Old Testament is filled with celebrations God’s people used to recall God’s goodness. Stories and celebrations of His faithfulness is God’s idea!
Do you help share the reasons to celebrate in your ministry area? As you do weekly ministry it’s easy to forget to look up and around and take in what’s happening. That’s the real story. Each week kids and families are getting to know a heavenly Father who loves them. Volunteers show up to serve God as they serve in the local church. Goldfish crackers are being massively consumed. It all somehow comes together each week to impact lives. As you interact with kids, parents and volunteers you can be the catalyst to share stories that help inspire others. Stories are fuel to ministry.
When it’s “go-time” on a weekend in ministry, it’s go-time to gather stories to use to help celebrate and inspire. Be a reporter. Use your phone to make a quick note as you hear a story. Write it down. Ask people to email their stories to you. Take a photo to jog your memory to retell a story after the weekend is over.
Next, broadcast the stories you gather to celebrate. Enlist others to gather stories too. Shared stories help inspire parents to create a rhythm all week long. They hear stories from other parents, and it can challenge them to take a next step at home. Want to add volunteers? Share impact stories of current volunteers. Keep your current volunteers aware that you are on the lookout for stories. Want to challenge kids to create a Monday through Saturday faith? Share kids’ stories of how God is moving in their lives. Simple stories can make an impact.
The stories are out there and happening each week. Inspire and celebrate by sharing and retelling the stories happening in your ministry.
