I love social media during the months of May and June!!
Every day there are…
…the list goes on and on
While I love seeing all the pictures, sometimes the busyness of our lives is almost overwhelming during this season. And, while the celebrations are fun, this time of year can also take its toll on us as individuals and as families.
Now that the festivities are drawing to a close, it’s time to rest, recharge, and refocus.
Those lazy days lying by the pool or in a hammock in the backyard are essential to provide the rest we need. Close your eyes and just listen to the sounds around you. Let God fill your soul with rest that only He can provide. Don’t you just love the verse in Matthew that says – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
A few days at the beach (or wherever you like to refuel), soaking in the sun and the waves can recharge our spirits. Jeremiah 31:25 says – “For I have satiated the weary soul.” I just LOVE that word! Satiated isn’t that you have just enough – it means you have WAY MORE than enough to satisfy!!
When we come back home, Sunday is still here, and we can refocus on our goal of ministering to families and young children. I just love the verse in Ecclesiastes 9:10 that says – “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.”
Every Sunday, we want to give our very best in serving our families. It is a wonderful feeling to know that every week lives are changed, families are restored and people go from death to life, and we get to be a part of that!
So…..now that the craziness of May and June are slowing down, let’s take time to rest, recharge, and refocus.
Off to a restful spot!
