Recruiting is a four-letter word! It’s a GIFT! When we hear the word recruit we should get excited, nearly jump out of our skin! So, why does recruitment get such a bad rap the longer we’re in ministry? I believe it’s all about perspective and false assumptions.
Recruiting comes very naturally to me. As a matter of a fact, I love it! Why, you ask? Good question! Well, I shudder to think what my life would be like today if no one ever gave me the “GIFT” of recruitment. What if they assumed I was too busy? Too stressed? Too tired? Well, the truth is, I was! But, when you find something you love to do, you make the time and God gives you the energy.
In turn, I think it’s a sin to rob others of the same God-opportunities. This perspective has allowed me the opportunity to watch people’s lives be transformed and their faith grow beyond words as they step out in ministry. I’ve watched people come alive as they find God’s purpose for their lives. For so many people that “GIFT” is inside of them and they’re just waiting for you to unwrap it! Get to it!
