The best part of any award show is the red carpet preshow. The reception is almost always more fun than the wedding. And, let’s be honest, most decisions are really made in “the meeting” after the meeting. Often, what happens before or after an event can offer as much value as the event itself.

That’s why we’re excited to offer several mini-events before and after Orange Conference sessions.

If you’re ready to finally put a face to that friendly voice on the phone, you’ll want to stop by the Orange Specialist Meet and Greet on Tuesday evening. All of our Specialists will be there, as well as some sweet treats and a gift. You do need to be a current subscriber to Orange to attend, so RSVP as many as five from your church to join other Orange thinkers to kick off a great week. You can RSVP by logging into your conference account and clicking the Meet and Greet event at the top.

After the last session Wednesday night, plan to make a friend and drink some coffee at our Coffee and Connections mini-event sponsored by MinisterSearch (AKA “the tweet up,” but if you’re not a Tweep, you’re still welcome). The first 100 people through the door at Chocolate Perks will get a free drink and swag bag full of goodies!

We’ve decided to split our forces Thursday night. The Family Experience Showcase at the Gwinnett Center will inspire preschool, children and family leaders (and rumor has it there will be free stuff after the fun).

Student ministers will enjoy inspiration of a different sort at Dave and Buster’s, Discover Mills location. Sign-up your team and show off your mad skills at the Orange bowling tourney sponsored by Razoo, a web-based company that promotes generosity by lending tools and great expertise to individuals and organizations seeking to fundraise for a cause.

Participation in the tournament is limited to 16 teams, and teams are assigned as first come first served. Not a bowler? Come heckle the teams while you network with other student ministers. To sign up, email Kristie McCollister.

Come end the week with a bang, literally, at the OC Wrap Party Friday night. We’ll gather at Stone Mountain Park, billed as Georgia’s #1 attraction, for a private laser show against the backdrop of their natural granite. It’ll be a great way to celebrate the week!
